Seaside Summer Top

Recently I had the opportunity to test the Seaside Summer Top by Chelsea from GYCT Designs.  I made one for the little guy and I love how it turned out!  It is a quick sew and adds some variety to the boy wardrobe.

I made this one in a seersucker fabric that I purchased from fabric.com before the little guy was even born and had used to make pants for the big kid.  It will be a great lightweight top for spring or summer - although right now, with so much snow still on the ground here, summer, and even spring, still seems ages away.

The pattern can be dressed up or down, depending on the fabric you choose.  The pattern also has various sleeve options and a dress option.  Later this week I will share a variation on the pattern I made by flipping the facing around to the front side, so stay tuned!

(This top was sewn with a testing version of the pattern - some changes have been made to the pattern since then, including adjustments to the neckline and depth of the slit)

  1. I love this! Saw it on the I Sew, I Flew Pinterest board. Even before the changes, I want the pattern. It's perfect on your little model.

    1. Thanks Ren! I really want to make another one in a linen blend - I think that would be perfect for summer.

  2. Adorable! I spotted this on the I Sew, I Flew Pinterest board and loved how perfect it would be for a cool summer evening. At least I'd like to think summer will be here one day but we STILL have snow. ha!
