Sewing for Myself: Jalie 2795 Hoodie

Tangible Pursuits: Sewing for Myself: Jalie 2795 Zip-Up Hoodie

I decided that I need to start doing a little sewing for myself.  The kids pretty much have everything they need right now but my wardrobe - especially my casual wardrobe, is severely lacking.

The first thing I decided to make was a fleece zip-up jacket. In the winter time you can often find me wearing a fleece jacket at home, and, of course, a fleece jacket is a great casual jacket for spring and fall.  Unfortunately the one I had been relying on has seen better days, so it was time for a new one.

Using up knit scraps: The Colorblock Shirt

After sewing a couple of pirate shirts for the kids during Kids Clothes Week I had some scraps left over from the yard I had originally purchased from The Fabric Fairy.  It is such a great fabric I didn't want any of it to go to waste.

Kids Clothes Week Wrap-Up

So, I finished four projects during kids clothes week... three shirts and a pair of pants.  I had hoped to get a lot more finished, but had a difficult week at work and didn't have the energy for much sewing during the week.

Giveaway Winner and KCW progress

The winner of the Rhino Lovey Pattern is Eva!  Congrats! I will be sending you an email shortly.  If you didn't win, you can buy the pattern on Craftsy (affilliate link).

As for Kids Clothing Week, I haven't got much sewing done yet.  I sewed for about half an hour on Monday but haven't sewed at all since then.  It was a rough week at work and I didn't have any energy left for sewing in the evenings.  I still have the whole weekend though!  We'll see how much I can get done.  Are you sewing along with KCW?  Have you been able to sew as much as you planned?
